Mission Statement:

The mission of the West Central Oregon Section is to preserve and enhance water quality in the state of Oregon. This will be accomplished through diligent monitoring, sound treatment practices, and continual educational growth of the members of the section.

City of Stayton  

Public Works Wastewater Treatment Operator

  Performs various duties required to operate and maintain the City’s Class III Wastewater Treatment Facility, collection system, and associated lift stations in compliance with the State and Federal regulations.

Advanced knowledge of principles, methods, tools and equipment used in treatment plant operations and maintenance, including biological and chemical nutrients, and wasting strategies.  Knowledge of solids processing and related principles of chemistry and biology. Possession of Level II Wastewater Systems Operator and Level II Wastewater Collections Certificates, a CDL, and a current First Aid/CPR card.  Equivalent to high school education supplemented by additional training in wastewater treatment, equivalent to two years of college and three years experience at a Class II or higher wastewater treatment facility, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.  Preference will be given to candidates with combined water and wastewater treatment certifications.

Work hours:  7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday.  Starting salary range $2,623.37 - $3,347.80/mo.  DOQ plus benefits.  Salary advancement/pension eligibility at 6 months.  For job description and application, contact City of Stayton, 362 N.
